On March 18, 2026, in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the co-organizers of the 2026 UN Water Conference and the co-chairs of the event's interactive dialogues. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Sirojiddin Muhriddin emphasized the key role of the Interactive Dialogues Co-Chairs, noting that their leadership is crucial to effectively guiding the discussions and ensuring that the conference outcomes reflect the priorities and expectations of Member States, as well as all stakeholders.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of the initiatives of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in advancing the global water agenda, as well as the preparations for the Fourth Dushanbe Water Conference, which will be held from May 25 to 28, 2026. In this regard, he invited participants to actively participate in and contribute to the Dushanbe Conference.
The co-organizers of the UN Water Conference 2026 and the co-chairs of the interactive dialogues, including the co-chair of the Dushanbe Water Conference and UN Deputy Secretary-General Li Junhua, expressed support for the initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation in the field of sustainable water resources management.
