The results of the regional competition "Tajikistan – the Birthplace of Navruz" have been announced in Khujand. The competition was held in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence and in anticipation of a fitting celebration of the International Navruz holiday. This was reported by the press service of the Sughd Region Chairman.
The competition was organized with the support of the Executive Authority of State Power of the Sughd Region, the Department of Youth and Sports of the Sughd Region, in conjunction with Bakhoriston Television, the Istiklol Group company, and the Vorisoni Sughd newspaper, and was held online over the course of two months.
The goal of the competition was to promote the best traditions of our ancestors, respect for culture and art, identify talented youth, and enhance national awareness among teenagers and young adults. The competition included categories for "Best Drawing," "Best Video," and "Best Poetry." Over 300 people from cities and districts across the region participated.
The awards ceremony took place in a festive atmosphere at the Y. Iskhaki Khujand Medical College and was accompanied by Navruz ceremonies and national games.


During the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Sughd Region, Zufar Ismoilzoda, on behalf of the Chairman of the Region, Rajab Akhmadzoda, congratulated those present on the upcoming International Navruz holiday and emphasized that, thanks to the cultural policies of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, Navruz has acquired global status and become a source of pride for the people of Tajikistan.
Following the competition, 18 winners in three categories received diplomas and celebratory gifts, while 40 active participants received letters of gratitude and commemorative gifts. The competition's sponsors and organizers were also awarded certificates of honor.
The event showcased the participants' best works, and a cultural program featuring Navruz songs and performances added an even more festive atmosphere to the celebration.
