The plenary session of the Boao Forum for Asia 2026 (BFA) annual meeting began in Boao, South China's Hainan Province, on Thursday.
Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji attended the event.
Noting that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the BAF, Zhao Leji said the forum has become a prestigious platform for promoting exchanges, cooperation and common development between Asian countries and the world.
According to him, only by acting together and in solidarity will humanity be able to confront global risks and challenges and build a better future.
Zhao Leji also said that China is preparing to host the 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen this November. As host, China is ready to seize this opportunity to cooperate with all parties to build an Asia-Pacific community and inject greater vitality and impetus into the region's development.
Established in 2001, the Boao Forum for Asia is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting regional economic integration and supporting Asian countries in achieving their development goals.
