On March 27, Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said visited locust infestations in the Kushoniyon district and reviewed the progress of eradication efforts, according to the press service of the Khatlon Region Chairman.
During his visit, Dawlatali Said instructed officials to ensure the timely implementation of measures aimed at protecting agricultural crops, pastures, and forests from the Moroccan locust, as well as to take measures to address existing problems and shortcomings in the fight against it.
According to experts, Moroccan locusts primarily lay eggs in areas difficult to reach with chemical treatment and periodically move from the foothills to the valleys and agricultural areas of the Khatlon region.

To prevent the spread of the Moroccan locust in Khatlon Region, control centers have been established in cities and districts. To date, Khatlon Region authorities have provided supplies of pesticides, fuel, and other necessary supplies.
The head of the Khatlon Region branch of the State Institution "Locust Control Expedition" has been instructed to quickly identify outbreak maps in each city and district and establish technical treatment of these areas. He also, in cooperation with higher-level agencies, is tasked with taking measures to ensure the timely repair and preparation of the enterprise's machinery and equipment, and to stockpile the required amount of potent pesticides.

Regional Governor Davlatali Said instructed officials on organizing the activities of regional and district headquarters related to coordinated locust control. He emphasized the need to intensify efforts in this area and take all measures to prevent the further spread of the pest.
