A man suspected of distributing candy laced with needles to children has been detained in Kyrgyzstan. The incident occurred on the evening of March 28 in the Ak-Ordo residential area of Bishkek, Tengrinews.kz reports.
According to the press service of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs, a local resident filed a report. She said her 11-year-old daughter and other children received candy from an unknown man, which contained needle fragments.
The Leninsky District Police Department's investigative service has opened a criminal case. The necessary forensic examinations have been ordered to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
During the course of the investigation, police identified the suspect. He was identified as a man identified only by the initials N.D. He was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs.
During a search of the suspect's residence, sweets and other material evidence were seized that may be relevant to the investigation.
