A series of earthquakes has been recorded in Central Asian countries.

Earthquakes have been recorded in several Central Asian countries in recent days, Fergana.ru reports.

On April 3, two significant seismic events occurred in Uzbekistan. According to the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring, at 3:26 PM Tashkent time, residents of Tashkent, the Tashkent, Syrdarya, Andijan, Namangan, and especially the Fergana regions felt tremors measuring 2–3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Tajikistan, with a magnitude of 5.5 and a depth of 10 kilometers.

Earlier, on the night of April 2, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck near the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan. The tremors were also felt in parts of Uzbekistan and were described by local media as another earthquake, noticeable to residents, following the Tajik tremor.

Seismic activity was also recorded in neighboring countries in the region during these same days. Kazakh seismologists reported a magnitude 4.9 earthquake on April 2, centered in Kyrgyzstan and felt in southern Kazakhstan.

In addition, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported that residents of the southern regions of the country felt a seismic event that occurred on the evening of April 3 in Afghanistan.

According to open international seismological data, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake was recorded in Tajikistan's Rasht region on April 3. Several earthquakes have also been recorded in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region in the preceding weeks.

These data confirm continued elevated seismic activity in a broad area of ​​Central Asia, including Tajikistan, northern Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.
