Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover in January–February 2026 reached $1.8 billion, according to a report published by analysts at the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
According to bank specialists, this figure increased by 27.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, Tajikistan's exports increased by 30.2 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
“The growth was achieved thanks to an increase in the production of mineral products, including cement, mineral concentrates, and electricity by 131 percent, precious metals by 208 percent, and the textile sector by 32 percent,” the EDB report states.
In addition, imports during the reporting period also increased by 26.6 percent compared to the previous year.
It is noted that the growth in imports was driven by high domestic demand, including investment.
The Eurasian Development Bank emphasized that during this period, imports of machinery and equipment into Tajikistan increased by 49.3 percent.
Analysts note that the expansion of foreign trade remains a key factor in the country's economic growth.
According to forecasts from the Eurasian Development Bank, Tajikistan's economic growth in 2026 will be 8.1 percent.
