A simulated "Operation Pedestrian" is being conducted in Dushanbe from April 13 to 23, 2026. The Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
The event's main goal is to raise public awareness of traffic regulations and prevent road accidents involving pedestrians.
According to the agency, the city has seen an increase in traffic accidents involving pedestrians. In the first three months of 2026, 44 traffic accidents were recorded in Dushanbe, 32 of which involved pedestrians. These incidents resulted in the deaths of six people, and another 26 sustained various injuries.
In this regard, residents are strongly advised to strictly observe traffic rules.
Particular attention is given to the role of parents. They are encouraged to devote more attention to educating their children about the legal aspects of traffic, teaching them road signs and road safety rules.
