Peng Liyuan, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Vietnamese President To Lam, visited the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) of China in Beijing on Wednesday.
Peng Liyuan and Ngo Phuong Ly visited the opera house, a virtual reality creative space, and a recording studio, where they learned about the NCCI's efforts to support artistic creation, provide cultural services, and facilitate international cultural exchanges. During their visit, they observed a rehearsal of a Chinese folk dance performance and a recording of a choir, pausing occasionally to chat.
Peng Liyuan noted that China and Vietnam are connected by mountains and rivers, have similar cultures, and their peoples share mutual understanding and friendship. She expressed hope that cultural institutions and artists from both countries will deepen exchanges and cooperation in various ways to strengthen the friendship between the two countries and the good relations between their peoples.
Ngo Phuong Ly sincerely thanked Peng Liyuan for the warm and thoughtful organization of this event, highly commended China's achievements in cultural development and artistic innovation, and expressed her willingness to actively promote cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries and strengthen Vietnamese-Chinese friendship.
