Representatives of Tajikistan and Russia discussed the development of digital cross-border trade during a videoconference between the Tax Committee of Tajikistan and the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
The meeting was chaired by Ayubjon Solehzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee of Tajikistan, and Alexander Egorichev, Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia. The focus was on the launch of a pilot project to exchange electronic shipping documents between business entities in the two countries.
As noted, a key element of the project will be the implementation of a trusted third-party mechanism, which will ensure secure and legally binding data exchange.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to establish a joint working group with the participation of government agencies, business representatives, and industry associations.
The Association of E-Commerce Participants of Tajikistan is also participating in the process, representing the interests of businesses and promoting the implementation of such tools as electronic invoices (e-invoice), electronic consignment notes (e-CMR), and electronic shipping documents.
The implementation of the pilot project is expected to be an important step towards the establishment of paperless cross-border trade and the integration of digital systems between Tajikistan and Russia.
