On April 17, 2026, the 17th meeting of the Working Group on Information Security under the CSTO Committee of Security Council Secretaries was held in Moscow. Delegations from national coordinating and authorized bodies, as well as experts and specialists from relevant agencies of the organization's member states, participated in the event, according to the CSTO press service.
The meeting was opened by Alexander Kuznetsov, Head and Advisor of the Department for Countering Challenges and Threats of the CSTO Secretariat, who addressed the participants.
The meeting was chaired by Alexey Ivanov. Participants discussed current information security threats and countermeasures.
During the discussions, a significant increase in cyberattacks, including those using NFCGate malware, was noted, as was a rise in the number of infected devices during public and political events. Furthermore, an increase in computer incidents involving contractors and business partners was recorded. Participants emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring of protected infrastructure to identify suspicious events.
Delegates also exchanged views on modern threats and discussed the issue of promptly communicating information about critical software vulnerabilities to the owners of vulnerable resources and responding to them in a timely manner.
The development of interaction between specialists of the CSTO CCC contact points, an increase in the number of joint events, and an increase in the speed of response to computer incidents were noted.
Participants expressed gratitude to the Russian side, which chairs the organization, for hosting the first specialized forum of the state system for detecting, preventing, and eliminating the consequences of computer attacks (GosSOPKA) on the eve of the meeting of the CSTO CCC Council.
