On April 20, 2026, the third meeting of the expert group was held in a mixed format at the CIS Executive Committee office. The meeting was devoted to the approval of the draft Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on the Masses and Dimensions of Vehicles Carrying Out Interstate Transportation on the Roads of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States of June 4, 1999, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
Representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the meeting. Also participating were the plenipotentiary representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Economic Affairs Commission of the CIS Economic Council, the head of the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Road Council, representatives of the Association of International Road Carriers of the Russian Federation, the umbrella organization of CIS member states, and members of the CIS Executive Committee.
As noted, the main goal of the proposed changes is to improve the efficiency of international road transport. This involves defining current weight and size standards for vehicles transporting goods on CIS roads without special permits.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the positions of CIS member states on this issue. Following the discussions, a decision was made to continue work on further coordinating the draft document.
