On January 23 and 24, 2026, in Tajikistan, due to the cessation of precipitation and partial clearing of the weather, air temperatures in most valley and foothill areas are expected to range from -8 to -13°C at night, and from -3 to +2°C during the day. In mountainous areas, temperatures will range from -14 to -19°C at night, and from -5 to -10°C during the day. Icy conditions will persist, according to the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Icy conditions, snow cover, and traffic congestion are forecast on highways in mountainous areas and at passes. Particular attention should be paid to sections of the Dushanbe-Chanak highway at kilometers 48-74 and kilometers 80-81, as well as avalanche-prone areas in Maikhura and Zidekh in the Varzob district, and areas in the districts of republican subordination and the western part of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, where avalanches are expected.
Given the adverse weather conditions, citizens, as well as those responsible for road traffic and transport, are advised to take the necessary measures to ensure traffic safety and prevent emergency situations.
