An additional meeting of the expert group to finalize and approve the draft Regulations for the International Film Festival of the Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) "Commonwealth" was held on January 21 at the CIS headquarters. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Commonwealth Executive Committee.
Having reviewed the comments and suggestions received regarding the document, the experts agreed on the draft Regulation. It was decided to submit it to the CIS Council of Heads of Government for consideration in accordance with established procedures.
As a reminder, the initiative to establish the International Film Festival within the CIS came from Kazakhstan. The forum aims to develop cooperation between CIS countries in the field of cinematography and to promote the achievements of their national film industries.
The film festival is planned to be held once every two years, alternately by each state in Russian alphabetical order of the country names.
The first International Film Festival "Commonwealth" is expected to take place in Kazakhstan.
