With the start of 2026, given the approaching deadline for applicants to the National Testing Center for higher education institutions and the increasing number of secondary school graduates applying for passports, employees of the Passport and Registration Services of the region, regions, cities, and districts of the republic have begun holding ceremonial and group events to present passports to students. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
On January 19–20, 2026, such ceremonies were held in general education institutions No. 4, No. 24, and No. 29 in the Matcha district, during which 67 graduates of these schools were awarded passports of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first time.
In the assembly halls of educational institutions, Deputy Head of the Passport and Registration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sughd Region, Police Lieutenant Colonel Inomjon Vakhobzoda, and Head of the Passport and Registration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Matchinsky District, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rustam Abdumanonzoda, addressed teachers and students and, on behalf of the service's leadership, congratulated schoolchildren who have reached the age of 16 and received a passport on this memorable day.

During the meetings, it was noted that a passport is not only a symbol of citizenship and status as a member of society, but also evidence of an individual's maturity, rights, responsibilities, and responsibility for their actions and decisions.
The graduates were encouraged to take pride in being citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, to strive for knowledge, to work hard to achieve a high student status, to successfully continue their education and work, and to contribute to the improvement and development of their native land.
Commemorative photographs became a worthy conclusion to the events.
