Heavy snowfall has complicated traffic on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway.

The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense for the Zeravshan Valley, in conjunction with IRS, is warning of heavy snowfall on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, passengers and drivers are urged to refrain from traveling in this direction unless absolutely necessary.

The department reported that contact numbers have been published to ensure prompt response in the event of an emergency: +992 93 880 28 74 and +992 92 979 06 07.

The IRS company noted that road service employees are clearing the road of snow and treating the roadway with anti-icing materials.

It is also emphasized that, in necessary cases, “in order to prevent the creation of obstacles to the movement of other vehicles, temporary restrictions on the movement of trucks and vans are not excluded.”
