Today, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed a decree increasing the current salaries of civil servants and employees of budgetary organizations, as well as pensions and stipends.
According to the decree, from September 1, 2026, the minimum wage in the republic for all economic and social spheres will be set at 1,300 somoni per month.
The document provides for a 25 percent increase in salaries for employees of preschool and general secondary education institutions. Salaries for employees of other institutions in the fields of education, science, culture, sports, healthcare, social welfare institutions, law enforcement, military personnel, government agencies, and public administration will increase by 20 percent.
The decree also increases the base salary for calculating the official salary of healthcare workers by 20 percent and sets it at 893 somoni.
The size of the basic salary as the basis for tariff coefficients is established for civil servants in administrative positions of the highest category in the amount of 1614 somoni, for the first, second, third and fourth categories – 1506 somoni, and for the fifth, sixth and seventh categories – 1668 somoni.
Effective September 1, 2026, current student scholarships and other types of scholarships, including presidential scholarships, with the exception of cadets of higher military institutions and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will increase by 20 percent.
The decree also provides for an increase in the salaries (tariff rates) of military personnel, law enforcement officers, and other employees of these agencies by 20 percent.
The base salary for calculating coefficients for military ranks of servicemen and special ranks of law enforcement officers from the rank of private to lieutenant is set at 2,002 somoni, and from the rank of senior lieutenant to army general – 1,800 somoni.
In addition, the base salary as the basis for tariff coefficients for civil servants in administrative positions of the highest, first, second, third and fourth categories is set at 1,800 somoni, and for administrative positions of the fifth, sixth and seventh categories in military structures and law enforcement agencies – 2,002 somoni.
The document also provides for indexation of insurance, labor, and social pensions, as well as supplements to them. The basic pension will be increased at the 2025 inflation rate, but by no less than 15 percent of the established amount.
