On January 12, 2026, a final meeting was held in Khatlon Region to discuss the region's socioeconomic development results in 2025 and set goals for 2026. This was reported by the regional administration's press service.
In honor of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Head of the Khatlon Region, by Resolution No. 46 of February 23, 2023, "On holding the regional competition "On determining the best cities, districts, towns, villages, microdistricts and residential buildings" in the Khatlon Region," approved the competition regulations, and the regional competition was held in the cities and districts of the region within the established timeframe.






The goal of the regional competition is to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence by effectively using land, expanding landscaping, construction, and creative activities, attracting investment from domestic entrepreneurs, promoting socioeconomic development, creating new jobs in towns and villages, promoting and disseminating best practices, honoring the values of national unity, strengthening sovereignty, and popularizing the best national traditions.












2.7 million people, 1,660 villages, 23 townships, and 133 rural jamoats from 25 cities and districts participated in the first stage of the competition to determine the "Best Cities and Districts." The competition's progress and results were regularly covered in regional media, and programs and news were prepared and published for viewers of the Oinai Nilgun television channel, radio listeners, and readers of local newspapers.
The awards ceremony for the winners of the regional competition was held with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Ziyozoda Suleimon and the head of the Khatlon region, Davlatali Said.
The competition organizing committee announced the winners in the following categories:
Best City Nomination
First place – the city of Kulyab, cash prize of 10,000 somoni;
second place – the city of Levakant, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
Third place – the city of Bokhtar, cash prize of 3,000 somoni.
Nomination "Best District"
First place – Dangara district, cash prize of 10,000 somoni;
second place – Yavan district, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
Third place – Kushoniyon district, cash prize of 3,000 somoni.
Nomination "Best Village"
First place – Khulbuk village jamoat, Vose district, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
second place – Munki village jamoat, Khovaling district, cash prize of 4,000 somoni;
Third place – Kubodiyon village jamoat, Kubodiyon district, cash prize of 2,000 somoni.
Nomination "Best Rural Settlement"
First place – Pushing rural jamoat, Dangara district, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
second place – Kangurt rural jamoat, Temurmalik district, cash prize of 4,000 somoni;
Third place – rural jamoat Kuhanshahr, Baljuvan district, cash prize of 2,000 somoni.
Nomination "Best Microdistrict"
First place – Somoniyon microdistrict of the Khodjamaston village jamoat of the Abdurahmoni Jomi district, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
second place – Tutqavul microdistrict of the rural jamoat Puli Sangin of the city of Nurek, cash prize of 4,000 somoni;
Third place – Sino microdistrict of Terai rural jamoat of Shamsiddin Shokhin district, cash prize of 2,000 somoni.
Nomination "Best Village"
First place – Sairob village, Panjob rural jamoat, Hamadoni district, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
second place – Zarkhez village, Khalevard rural jamoat, Jaloliddin Balkhi district, cash prize of 4,000 somoni; Third place – Darkad village, Darkad rural jamoat, Farkhor district, cash prize of 2,000 somoni.
Nomination "Best Residential Building"
First place – the house of Todzhiev Avaz, a resident of the rural jamoat Nuri Vakhsh, Dusthii district, cash prize of 6,000 somoni;
second place – the house of Abdulloev Kudratullo, a resident of the Zarnisor village jamoat in the Vakhsh region, cash prize of 4,000 somoni;
Third place – the house of Faizulloev Saodatmurod, a resident of the rural jamoat of Gallaobodi, Khuroson district, cash prize of 2,000 somoni.
Deputy Prime Minister Ziyozoda Sulaymon and the head of the region, Davlatali Said, presented honorary certificates from the executive body of state power of the Khatlon region.
