On January 7, 2026, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting to clarify the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Majlisi Oli of the country "On the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of the republic" dated December 16, 2025, as well as a reporting and election meeting of the primary organization of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan "Economist".
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the PDPT in Dushanbe, Shohiyon Abdurakhim, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the PDPT in the Ismoili district, Somoni Kurbonzoda Ubaidullo Makhmadali, as well as employees of the central office of the ministry.
Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade emphasized that the President's Address is an important strategic document defining the country's sustainable socioeconomic development, strengthening foreign policy, and improving the population's standard of living and quality of life. Abdurakhmonzoda noted that over the past ten years, the implementation of state programs has ensured stable macroeconomic indicators and sustainable growth of the national economy.
Over the same period, the country's gross domestic product increased 3.4-fold, with an average annual economic growth rate of 7.6 percent. In 2025, GDP reached 173 billion somoni, with real economic growth at 8.4 percent. Per capita GDP increased from 6,000 somoni in 2015 to 16,400 somoni in 2025. The population increased by 26 percent to 10.7 million, life expectancy increased from 70 to 77 years, and the poverty rate decreased to 19 percent. Population income increased more than sixfold over the past ten years, reaching 165 billion somoni in 2025.
In the President's Address, ministries, departments, and executive bodies were instructed to ensure economic growth of at least eight percent in 2026 and maintain the stability of key macroeconomic indicators in subsequent years.
The meeting also heard a report on the activities of the NDPT's "Economist" primary organization for 2025. Following the discussion, Abdurakhmonzoda Abdurakhmon Safarali was elected chairman of the primary organization for the next term, and the composition of the presidium was determined.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Shokhiyon Abdurakhim, Chairman of the PDPT Executive Committee in Dushanbe, emphasized the party's role in strengthening peace and national unity, the country's socioeconomic development, and the education of youth, calling on party members to work effectively. Responsible officials were given specific instructions for the timely and effective implementation of the action plan related to the implementation of the instructions and directives outlined in the President's Address.
