In September 2025, the Chinese Language Workshop, established by the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tibet-Everest Resources Company, selected and funded a new group of 11 Tajik young men and women to study in China. They began a year-long language training program at Northwest University and a 2+2 program in jewelry processing at Lanzhou Vocational University of Resources and Environment. Now, three months later, in the midst of late autumn, these 11 students are experiencing a time of personal achievement and growth.
" I felt a sense of confidence ."
Mukhsin Ashurov, a technician at the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company, previously completed a four-year course in Chinese and metallurgy at Kunming Polytechnic University. This time, after returning to China and beginning advanced training at Northwestern University, he felt a sense of confidence.

Having already obtained an HSK 4 certificate, he stated that his educational goal is to further improve his practical Chinese language skills and strengthen his ability to communicate with Chinese colleagues and partners in order to contribute to the development of the company and friendly relations between China and Tajikistan.
“ I couldn’t speak a single sentence in Chinese .”
In contrast to Mukhsin's restraint, Mehrubon Kholzoda, who had just turned eighteen and was visiting China for the first time, was full of excitement. He frankly admitted that upon arriving at Northwestern University, he "couldn't write a single character or pronounce a single sentence in Chinese."

After three months of training, he is already capable of basic everyday communication in Chinese. However, his acquisitions go far beyond language: whether it's experiencing the diverse cuisine, convenient communications, or visiting the ancient Bell Tower and the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, all of this has allowed him to gain a more direct understanding of Chinese civilization and has awakened a deeper interest in Chinese culture.
Everything is designed to help you learn Chinese.
At Lanzhou Vocational University of Resources and Environment, Tajik students are taught using the "Chinese language + vocational skills" model. For the first two years, the students completed basic courses in "Chinese language + technology" at the Tajik Metallurgical Institute; this September, they finally set foot in Lanzhou, witnessed the majestic mountains and rivers they had read about in their textbooks, and experienced firsthand the local customs and traditions their instructors had described.

Student Muhammad Nadzhmiddinov said he greatly appreciated the opportunity to experience advanced Chinese jewelry-making technology and enjoyed the process of learning how to cut and set gemstones using Chinese, which made him feel like "the efforts of the past two years were not in vain."
More than a hundred Tajik boys and girls have already been sent to study.
The Tajik-Chinese Mining Company's Chinese Language Workshop in Tajikistan is the first Chinese Language Workshop in Central Asia. It was founded in 2023 as a result of joint discussions, creation, and management by the Chinese Center for International Language Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company, and Lanzhou Vocational and Technical University of Resources and Environment.

The project provides ongoing training for local staff using the "Chinese language and professional skills" model, organizes cultural exchange events such as the "Chinese Language Bridge" Summer Camp, and recruits and funds young Tajik people to study Chinese language and professional skills in China.
As of 2025, the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company has sent over 100 Tajik young men and women to study in China. The latest group of Tajik students adapted quickly within three months, studied diligently and purposefully, and made significant progress in their language skills, professional knowledge, and cultural understanding.

This is not only the result of personal efforts, but also reflects the solid achievements of the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company Chinese Language Workshop project in the field of personnel training and cultural interpenetration.
Looking to the future, the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company will continue to effectively utilize the Chinese Language Workshop platform and continuously deepen the Chinese language + professional skills training model.

It will focus on enhancing the professional and technical skills of the company's Tajik employees, while simultaneously fostering the development of more interdisciplinary talents with international perspectives and professional competencies for the local society, promoting the development of people's well-being and economic prosperity of Tajikistan, and injecting sustainable driving force into people-to-people exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Tajikistan.
