More than 500 different greenhouses operate in the Sughd region, playing a key role in ensuring food security and abundance in local markets, according to the region's press service.
Growing crops in greenhouses allows us to supply the domestic market with fresh produce, including tomatoes and cucumbers, during the winter and spring.
In recent years, innovative greenhouses have significantly expanded their footprint in cities and districts across the region, alongside traditional greenhouses. Farmers are using modern methods and technologies to grow crops and produce.
The creation of innovative greenhouses in the cities and districts of Penjikent, Bobojon Gafurov, Spitamen, Jabbor Rasulov, Kanibadam, and Isfara is the result of the successful experience of local farmers. The implementation of these initiatives has demonstrated that the use of modern greenhouse technologies ensures high yields.
In addition, residents of the Sughd region are building small and medium-sized greenhouses on their private plots, using advanced methods and the proven experience of renowned farmers to grow a variety of crops.
Residents of the villages of Khaidar Usmonov, Undzhi Bobojon in the Gafurov district, and Dehmoy Jabbor in the Rasulov district demonstrate particular expertise in using their garden plots. Most residents of these villages grow vegetables and herbs in greenhouses during the winter and spring, making a significant contribution to supplying the domestic market with fresh produce.
The press service emphasized that in the future, the process of growing vegetables and other crops in greenhouses will be strengthened, and farms will continue to make a significant contribution to food security and meeting the needs of the domestic consumer market.
