An awards ceremony for the winners of international and national school Olympiads was held in Khorog with the participation of Mirzonabot Alisher Khudoberdi, Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). This was reported by the GBAO press service.
The regional chairman congratulated all the winners on their achievements and noted each one's contribution to enhancing the prestige and authority of GBAO.
The regional governor emphasized that education occupies a key place in the government's social policy. The focus is on training highly qualified personnel for all sectors of Tajikistan's economy.

During the country's independence, at the initiative of President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan, teachers were provided with ongoing practical support. Last year, in his Address to Parliament, the head of state ordered a 30 percent increase in teachers' salaries. This initiative has been implemented 21 times since independence.
Education funding is increasing every year. In 2024, 8 billion 231 million somoni were allocated for education. Significant changes have also been made to the GBAO education system, including the construction of educational institutions for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the country's independence.

The regional chairman called on education workers to actively engage with parents, establish close ties, and jointly address issues related to the education and upbringing of schoolchildren.
Following the ceremony, 62 students were awarded Certificates of Honor from the regional chairman for successful academic performance, exemplary behavior, active participation, and high rankings in international and national Olympiads.
