The capital's football team, Istiklol, has won the Tajikistan Premier League title for the 14th time, including the 12th consecutive time. This was announced by the Football Federation of Tajikistan (FFT).
In the final round match, Istiklol tied with the Vakhsh club from Bokhtar with a score of 1:1 and scored 47 points, which secured it first place in the tournament table and an early championship.
The FFT recalled that Istiklol previously won gold medals in the Major League in the 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 seasons.
As a result of winning the national championship, the club will receive the right to represent Tajikistan in the 2026/27 season in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge League.
The Vakhsh football team won silver medals, while Artish (CSKA Dushanbe) took bronze. Panjshir, a club from the Jaloliddini Balkhi district, will leave the Premier League at the end of the season and move to the First League. Hulbuk, a team from Vose, will play two playoff matches against the second-place team in the First League to maintain their place in the top division.
