On December 4, 2025, the final stage of the joint anti-terrorism exercises (SATE) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, entitled "Sahand-Antiterror-2025," took place in Tabriz, Islamic Republic of Iran. Representatives from all SCO member states participated in the exercises, demonstrating their experience and skills in jointly countering terrorism and extremism, according to the SCO press service.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Lieutenant General Mohammad Pakpour, addressed the exercise participants via video message.
The Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Center (EC RATS SCO) Ularbek Sharsheev, the exercise director Major General Vali Madani, the deputy exercise director Brigadier General Jahangir Alinejad, and the First Deputy Chairman of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus, member of the Council of RATS SCO Major General Sergei Terebov spoke at the conclusion of the SATU.
SCO Deputy Secretary-General Piao Yanfan took part in observing the final stage of the exercises and in the summing-up ceremony.
The exercises showcased the latest weapons, military and special equipment.
According to the organizers, the exercises are intended to become an effective platform for exchanging experiences and ensuring synergy between SCO member states in the fight against terrorism, as well as to promote stronger cooperation in regional security.
