As a result of operational investigative measures, police officers detained several individuals on suspicion of committing thefts in the cities of Kulyab and Dushanbe, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
A 25-year-old local resident reported to the Kulyab Department of Internal Affairs that on November 8, 2025, an unknown individual broke into a bakery located in the S. Safarov microdistrict, stole 10,000 somoni, and fled the scene. A 26-year-old resident of the Muminabad district was detained during the investigation.
Additionally, during the investigation, police detained a 27-year-old resident of the I. Somoni district of Dushanbe. In September 2025, she secretly entered the Shimol grocery store on Rudaki Avenue, owned by a 58-year-old businessman from Dushanbe, stole food products worth 20,000 somoni, and fled.
Three women—a 67-year-old, a 19-year-old, and a 17-year-old resident of Dushanbe—were also detained during the investigation. They were suspected of stealing from a 70-year-old woman. On October 29, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM, they stole the victim's apartment documents, several pieces of gold jewelry, 35,400 somoni in cash, and $2,300 in cash. The damages amounted to 70,000 somoni.
All the thefts are under investigation. Law enforcement officials continue to clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify possible accomplices.
