Dushanbe police officers have solved several crimes involving fraud, embezzlement, and theft, the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
A 32-year-old resident of Dushanbe filed a complaint with the Shokhmansur District Department of Internal Affairs No. 1. He reported that a 44-year-old local woman, having gained his trust, bought a 111.73 square meter apartment from him for $72,800 in cash, promising to sell it within two months and return the money. However, the suspect sold the apartment to someone else and used the proceeds for personal use. An investigation is underway.
During investigative operations, it was discovered that a 35-year-old resident of Dushanbe, who worked as a sales representative for Tajero Sughd LLC in Khujand from April to September 2025, embezzled the company's property. He received the company's products, including those under the Nestlé brand, and distributed them to retail outlets and stores in the city and districts of the Sughd region. However, he failed to transfer the collected funds to the company's cash register and embezzled 163,718 somoni, causing significant damage to the company. A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 3 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the investigation is ongoing.
Additionally, the Shokhmansur District Department of Internal Affairs recorded a theft. A 26-year-old local resident reported that on November 19, 2025, at approximately 1:00 PM, unknown individuals broke into her apartment and stole 214,000 somoni. During the investigation, police detained a 27-year-old Dushanbe resident on suspicion of the theft. An investigation is underway.
All three cases are under investigation, and measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances and bring those responsible to justice.
