Palestine welcomes the U.S. resolution adopted by the UN Security Council to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip and expresses its readiness to assume responsibility for its implementation. This was stated in a statement by the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), cited by the WAFA news agency.
The statement emphasized that “the State of Palestine insists on the immediate implementation of this resolution on the ground to ensure a return to normal life and the protection of the population in the Gaza Strip.”
In addition, it is noted that “the State of Palestine confirms its readiness to assume full responsibility for the Gaza Strip within the framework of the unity of the territory, people and institutions, considering the Strip an integral part of the State of Palestine.”
The Palestinian Authority (PA) has declared its readiness to cooperate with the US administration, members of the UN Security Council, Arab and Islamic countries, European Union states, the UN and all interested parties to ensure the implementation of the resolution.
As reported, on Tuesday night the UN Security Council approved a draft resolution proposed by the United States, promoting Washington's plan to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
The document provides for the creation of an International Stabilization Force (ISF), which will cooperate with Israel, Egypt, and the new Palestinian police force to secure the borders and demilitarize the Gaza Strip. It also plans to form a "Peace Council," which will serve as a transitional government in the enclave until 2027. It is expected that US President Donald Trump will lead it.
