On November 11, 2025, at the invitation of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a meeting was held between Nazarzoda Habibullo Temur, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Hussein Purfarzon, President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was reported by the press service of the Civil Aviation Agency.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in civil aviation, including increasing the number of flights and opening new air routes on the Kish-Dushanbe, Kish-Khujand, and Shiraz-Dushanbe routes.
The Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan emphasized that, as part of the Open Skies policy implemented in accordance with a decision of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the country's international airports are offering a 40 percent discount on all services. This measure is aimed at attracting international airlines and further developing aviation cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of improving the qualifications of specialists and organizing training courses.
It is noted that currently, flights between the two countries are operated by Somon Air on the part of Tajikistan and Varesh Airlines on the part of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In addition, starting November 19, 2025, Raymond Airlines will begin regular flights on the Mashhad-Dushanbe-Mashhad route twice a week.
As part of further cooperation, it is planned that Kish Airlines will begin charter flights on the Kish-Dushanbe-Kish route starting November 28, 2025.
