Russian forces launched a missile strike on a residential neighborhood in Mykolaiv, destroying private homes, damaging residential buildings, and starting a fire. This was reported by Vitaly Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, as of 12:18 AM local time, three people were hospitalized with various injuries. Several of the injured received medical assistance at the scene.
"A fire broke out in the city after the strike, and emergency rescue teams are working at the scene," the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) in Mykolaiv Oblast clarified. According to the agency, several private homes were destroyed, and damage was recorded to buildings occupied by civilians.
Rescue teams continue to conduct rescue operations, clearing debris, and containing and extinguishing the fire. Emergency services are on the scene.
Simultaneously with the attack on Mykolaiv, Russian forces launched strikes in other regions of Ukraine. In Kherson, a road bridge near the Korabel neighborhood was damaged, and in Kharkiv, on the evening of August 1, a drone strike was recorded near an apartment building. The incident resulted in civilian casualties, including children—the youngest of whom was only a few months old.
Civil defense services are calling on residents of shelled areas to observe safety precautions, avoid shelling sites, and seek medical attention if necessary.
