A resident of the Rudaki district was arrested for the theft of more than four tons of rebar worth 59,000 somoni.

Police officers have detained a man suspected of stealing a large shipment of building materials from a company's premises, the press service of the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

The Vahdat Department of Internal Affairs received a report from the management of Pakrut LLC regarding a theft committed between July 26 and 28 of this year. According to the complainant, 4.1 tons of 16mm diameter rebar were stolen from the company's premises in the Ramit Gorge. The damage is estimated at 59,000 somoni.

As a result of investigative operations, it was established that a 41-year-old resident of the Rudaki district was involved in the crime. The perpetrator has been detained. A criminal case has been opened against him, and an investigation is underway.
