A meeting between the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, was held in the city of Guliston in the Sughd region, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The meeting was also attended by executives and senior officials from fuel and energy companies of the two countries.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Particular attention was paid to the coordination of the energy systems of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan during the autumn-winter period of 2025–2026, as well as technical issues arising within the framework of the "Reconnection to the Unified Energy System of Central Asia" project.
During the talks, it was noted that energy cooperation between the two countries, initiated by Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is developing dynamically and encompasses all key areas of the industry.
Following the meeting, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the current level of interaction and confirmed their readiness to further strengthen strategic and fraternal relations in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
