Distribution of the immortal poem "Shahnameh" by the great sage Abulqasim Firdawsi, republished in high quality thanks to the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, has begun in Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The distribution of the immortal book, which, by order of the head of state, is to be given to every family in the country, began in the cities and districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and the Rasht Valley.
This noble and unique educational initiative by the President of the country is timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence. The goal, as the head of state emphasized, is "first and foremost, to revive historical memory, develop national self-awareness and self-knowledge, and instill patriotism and love for the Motherland in the people, especially among adolescents and young people."
The country's population, welcoming the launch of this patriotic initiative with gratitude and appreciation, notes that it will contribute to strengthening the sense of pride, dignity, and civic responsibility of every resident of Tajikistan.
The book was published by the Sharqi Ozod Publishing House of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in two volumes, with a total circulation of 1,700,000 copies.
It should be remembered that the Shahnameh, the immortal creation of the great poet Abulqasim Firdavsi, is the greatest national poem of the Aryan peoples and a treasury of wisdom and reason.
Regarding its significance, in the preface to the new edition, President Emomali Rahmon notes, in particular: "Indeed, in the Shahnameh, which has no equal in any culture in the world, Firdavsi wrote with his heart's blood the history of his people—a history full of joy and pride, victories and defeats, pain and aspirations. In this way, he immortalized for future generations the history, culture, philosophy, wisdom, legends, myths, customs, and traditions of the Aryans."
The President of the country emphasizes that the main themes of this masterpiece—the glorification of knowledge and reason, the affirmation of love for the Motherland, the celebration of independence and freedom, the call for human equality, the triumph of good over evil, and justice over injustice and lawlessness—remain of great significance even today, a thousand years later.
It is noted that Firdawsi's sublime philosophy encourages us to acknowledge our past and serves as an instructive and edifying lesson for present and future generations. Especially today, in the age of globalization, when states, nations, languages, and original cultures threaten to disappear, we need the patriotic ideas of the Shahnameh more than ever.
It should be noted that this noble and cultural initiative of the head of state, Emomali Rahmon, along with other creative initiatives, including the publication and presentation of Bobojon Gafurov's outstanding work "Tajiks" to every family, can serve to enhance the sense of self-awareness of every citizen of the country and comprehensively contribute to the education of a creative generation. If one were to briefly and beautifully describe the significance of the Shahnameh and the reading of it in promoting and strengthening patriotism and protecting the borders and roots of our country, no one wrote it better than Firdavsi himself:
"Who will read the Shahnameh?"
Even a woman will become brave."
Or:
“For thirty years I suffered without knowing peace,
And he revived the Iranian peoples with the Persian word."
