An international seminar on biodiversity is being held at the Varzob Mountain Botanical Station "Kondara" in Tajikistan. Ecologists, botanists, physiologists, soil scientists, and other biologists from the Commonwealth countries will share their experiences in plant cultivation and conservation of plant life, according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The event's organizers, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the support of the International Fund for Geophysical Surveys (IFGS), have prepared an extensive program for the seminar participants. Scientists will not only discuss current issues and modern trends in the study of biological formations but will also have the unique opportunity to learn about the operation of a modern digital weather station installed at the Varzob Mountain Botanical Station "Kondara." Leading staff from the station will conduct practical training in the Kondara Gorge, which can be considered a model for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
The station was installed in 2013 and operates to measure weather and climate characteristics of precipitation, air, soil, and other environmental parameters.
