Over 18,000 workers and engineering and technical specialists are working at the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station in Tajikistan. This was announced by President Emomali Rahmon during a working visit to the city of Rogun, where he inspected the hydroelectric power station's construction and met with the plant's staff.
According to the head of state, 18,300 specialists and workers are currently employed at the construction site, and the number of machines and equipment has reached 3,721 units. To accelerate construction, 443 new units of equipment have been commissioned in 2024–2025.
Emomali Rahmon emphasized that the project's implementation is of strategic importance for the country's energy security and independence. He instructed the responsible agencies to expand the work, improve construction quality, and establish strict oversight of the project's implementation.
The President noted that the construction of the dam and the commissioning of new units at the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station must be completed within the established timeframe and in full compliance with international standards.
"The Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant is a guarantee of Tajikistan's prosperity today and tomorrow. The country's energy independence and the well-being of future generations depend on the effective work of each of you," the head of state declared.
