The President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chairman of the Government, Emomali Rahmon, held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to review key programs for the country's socio-economic development, the presidential press service reported .
During the meeting, a report by the Chairman of the Committee on Primary and Secondary Vocational Education, Farhod Rahimi, was heard on the draft program for the development of the primary and secondary vocational education system for 2026–2030.
The program includes modernizing the educational process, strengthening the material and technical infrastructure, constructing and renovating buildings, laboratories, and training workshops, retraining teachers and vocational training instructors, digitalizing the education system, and improving the quality of workforce training. The document emphasizes the need for greater youth involvement in vocational training.
The government approved the program and instructed the relevant ministries and agencies to ensure its implementation within the allocated funds and to submit annual reports on the results.
The meeting also reviewed the State Program for the Development of Digital Television for 2026–2030. It aims to ensure full coverage of the country's state television and radio stations in digital format, develop infrastructure, and meet the information needs of the population.
Following the discussion, the document was approved, the action plan was approved, and funding sources were identified.
In addition, government members discussed the forecast of key macroeconomic indicators for 2027 and socio-economic development parameters for 2028–2029.
Concluding the meeting, Emomali Rahmon gave instructions to responsible agencies to prepare for the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026 and to implement large-scale improvement works in honor of the upcoming 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence.
