On September 3, a military parade will be held in Tiananmen Square in central Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The event will showcase the rapid development of the People's Liberation Army's new generation of weapons, equipment, and technologies.
China's new armed forces structure will be unveiled for the first time.
The parade will feature the banners of the various branches of the Chinese armed forces, as well as the banner of the People's Armed Police Force, representing the new structure of the Chinese military following deepening defense reforms. As a reminder, the People's Liberation Army comprises the Aerospace Force, Cyberspace Force, Information Support Force, and Joint Logistics Force, as well as the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force.
A number of new types of weapons and military equipment will be demonstrated
All weapons and military equipment displayed at the military parade are Chinese-made and have already been adopted by the PLA. Their level of information technology has reached a new level. Several new types of land-, sea-, and air-based strategic weapons, as well as hypersonic and high-precision strike weapons, will be on display for the first time at the upcoming parade. New fourth-generation weapons, unmanned and counter-unmanned vehicles, directed-energy weapons, and other systems will also be on display. The debut of these new weapons and military equipment fully demonstrates the strength and high capability of the Chinese armed forces in protecting national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and in maintaining world peace. Furthermore, other advanced technologies, such as hypersonic air and missile defense systems and strategic missiles, will be on display at the ceremony on September 3, demonstrating the PLA's powerful strategic deterrent potential.
The parade will combine tradition and modernity.
The upcoming military parade will feature units whose origins lie in the forces that directly participated in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. A massive military band will march across the square, consisting of 14 formations symbolizing the 14 years of the War of Resistance. The first to march will be a formation of 80 trumpeters, symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance. To enhance the solemn atmosphere, several patriotic songs from the War of Resistance will be played in Tiananmen Square. They will remind us to cherish the peace for which our ancestors fought so hard. Symbolism of the War of Resistance is also integrated into the design of Tiananmen Square, where the parade will pass. Their message is that "justice will prevail, peace will prevail, and the people will triumph," that the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War were great victories of justice over evil, of light over darkness.
The upcoming parade in the Chinese capital will showcase not only the improved performance of Chinese military equipment but also the innovation of its combat concept. It will be not only a tribute to history but also a powerful message for the future. From an international perspective, the parade in Beijing will demonstrate China's strategic resolve to safeguard national security and regional stability in a complex environment. In the future, the Chinese armed forces will utilize more powerful capabilities and more reliable means to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, as well as to maintain world peace!
