On September 19, 2025, a meeting of the expert group for the development of drafts of the Concept for the Digital Transformation of the Mining and Metallurgical Industries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Action Plan for its implementation was held in Moscow, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The event was held via videoconference with the participation of representatives from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, NUST MISIS, which is the base organization for the CIS member states, and the CIS Executive Committee.
Experts discussed and approved the draft documents. Following government approval, the draft Concept for the Digital Transformation of the Mining and Metallurgical Sectors of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Action Plan for its implementation will be submitted to the highest CIS bodies for consideration in accordance with established procedures.
The concept aims to expand interstate cooperation within the CIS in the digitalization of mining and metallurgy industries and create the necessary conditions for building a digital mining and metallurgy complex to enhance product competitiveness and accelerate industrial growth. Key areas of cooperation within the framework of the documents under discussion include the use of neural network models and algorithms, the implementation of autonomous industrial enterprise control systems that enable the integration of digital twins of technological processes into management processes, the creation of an information and telecommunications infrastructure, and a system of hardware and software systems.
Effective cooperation among CIS member states in the digital transformation of the mining and metallurgical industry is expected to contribute to addressing pressing issues related to information technology, automation, and digital governance.
