On September 25, 2025, an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The event was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his speech, the minister emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and expanding security cooperation between CSTO member states. He stated that effective cooperation is essential to counter growing regional and international threats, including terrorism, extremism, and drug trafficking.
In addition, at the meeting, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the participating countries discussed current issues on the Organization's agenda, including measures to ensure collective security, joint initiatives to counter transnational threats, and strengthen regional stability.
Sirojiddin Mukhriddin also noted that Tajikistan attaches particular importance to joint work with its CSTO partners aimed at maintaining peace and security in Central Asia and adjacent regions.
The extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers became an important platform for exchanging opinions and developing joint solutions on pressing issues of international and regional security.
