Tajikistan's Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda met with Naoufel Telakhig, Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Central Asia of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). This was reported by the Ministry of Finance's press center.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing cooperation within IFAD projects aimed at rural development and improving the efficiency of the agricultural sector. Particular attention was paid to the projects "Market Access and Livestock Adaptation" and "Agricultural Management and Digitalization to Strengthen Food Security."
The goal of these projects is to improve the standard of living of the rural population, expand the opportunities of dehkans (private farmers), and increase the country's food security.
The Minister of Finance emphasized the importance of further expanding cooperation, including providing agricultural producers with access to modern technologies, targeted financing for the development of rural entrepreneurship, and the efficient use of water resources to adapt to climate change.
The parties agreed to continue working together on projects aimed at the sustainable development of rural areas of Tajikistan and increasing the economic independence of farms.
