The Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, together with the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the country, announced the holding of a national competition, "Glacier Protection – an Important Factor in Ensuring a Bright Future for Humanity," the parliament's press service reported.

The competition aims to draw attention to the problems of glacier conservation, increase environmental awareness among the population, and promote scientific and creative initiatives in the field of environmental protection.
Submissions will be accepted in three categories: best popular science article; best television and radio programs; best illustration.
The application period begins on October 1, 2025, and will run until May 1, 2026. The competition results will be announced on the eve of World Environment Day, June 5, 2026. The winners will be awarded diplomas, letters of gratitude, and commemorative gifts by the leadership of the Majlisi Namoyandagon and the Committee for Environmental Protection.
In their competition entries, participants must reflect the implementation of the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, including: "International Year of Glacier Conservation"; the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028"; "Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences, 2025-2034"; "National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change in the Republic of Tajikistan through 2030"; the State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Environmental Education and Public Awareness for 2021-2025.
There are no age or profession restrictions. Representatives of various professions, including scientists, researchers, analysts, experts, and journalists, students from secondary, vocational, and higher education institutions, creative groups, and legal entities are welcome to participate.
