A free "City Tour" bus tour was held in Dushanbe to celebrate World Tourism Day for residents and visitors. The Dushanbe City Executive Authority announced this.
Over 200 people participated in the event, including university and college students, local residents, and foreign tourists. Three double-decker buses were provided for the tour participants, which traveled along the capital's main avenues.
Tour participants were able to see Dushanbe's updated appearance, with its landscaped streets and modern urban infrastructure. Guides spoke in Dushanbe, Russian, and English and told passengers about the city's history and culture, its monuments, and its tourism potential.
To create a festive atmosphere, live music was performed during the tour. According to the organizers, such events contribute to the development of domestic tourism, the popularization of attractions, and the attraction of foreign visitors to Tajikistan.
World Tourism Day has been celebrated annually on September 27 since 1979. This year marked the 47th year of the event, which was celebrated in dozens of countries, including Tajikistan.
