The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the UN Food and Agriculture Programme and the Korea International Cooperation Agency, is implementing a program to develop educational infrastructure in the Rasht group of districts, the ministry's press service reported.
As part of this initiative, new buildings were opened at School No. 56 in the village of Gulkhani, Askalon jamoat, Rasht district, and School No. 33 in the village of Safedob, Kalai labi obi jamoat, Tojikobod district.
The steps being taken within the educational infrastructure development programs are a response to the urgent need to restore these educational institutions damaged by the earthquake of April 13, 2025, which disrupted the educational process. In line with the state policy of ensuring a modern, safe educational environment for the younger generation, the Ministry of Education and Science, together with development partners, initiated a project to construct new buildings.
The new building of School No. 56 is equipped with four classrooms and 192 seats in two shifts. As part of additional school nutrition support programs, a cafeteria equipped with the necessary equipment was also built. The Ministry of Education and Science provided the educational equipment and materials.
Educational Institution No. 33 in Tojikobod has been restored with four classrooms for 96 students in two shifts, which also meets modern educational requirements and creates comfortable conditions for the learning process.
