The Defense Ministers of Tajikistan and Russia, Emomali Sobirzoda and Andrei Belousov, met in Dushanbe to discuss military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries, according to the press center of the Tajik Ministry of Defense.
The meeting took place as part of the Central Asia-Russia Summit and the CIS Heads of State Council meeting in Dushanbe. During the talks, satisfaction was expressed with the high level of cooperation between the defense ministries of Tajikistan and Russia, which is built on the principles of the peace-loving policies of the two countries' presidents, Emomali Rahmon and Vladimir Putin.
The parties discussed prospects for further development of military-technical cooperation within regional and international organizations. Particular attention was paid to strengthening security in Central Asia, as well as ensuring stability and peaceful coexistence in the international arena.
The ministers also exchanged assessments of the current defense and security situation and discussed joint programs for military training, weapons modernization, and defense infrastructure development. The meeting participants expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation will continue to strengthen security and stability in the region.
The press center of the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan emphasized that bilateral defense contacts remain one of the key areas of the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia.
