President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This was reported by the presidential press service.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Armenia and expressed interest in its further development in all areas.
The President of Tajikistan emphasized: "We attach great importance to strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Armenia and are interested in its progress in all areas." He noted that the current legal framework covers key areas and creates opportunities for realizing the potential of both countries in sectors of mutual interest.
Particular attention was paid to developing cooperation in trade, investment, green energy, and industry, including industrial cooperation. The parties agreed on the need to intensify the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
During the negotiations, issues of increasing the volume of trade turnover between the countries, expanding mutual trade using existing opportunities, as well as organizing and holding joint trade forums were discussed.
In addition, the leaders focused on developing interparliamentary dialogue and exchanging experiences in the areas of culture, education, youth policy, and tourism.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed cooperation in international and regional organizations, particularly the UN, and expressed their willingness to support each other's global initiatives.
The working meeting emphasized mutual interest in expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Armenia.
