According to the agency, detectives apprehended the suspect red-handed while selling illegal substances. During a search of his residence, law enforcement officers discovered and seized a large quantity of drugs—363 ecstasy pills and 70 grams of methamphetamine.
"The seized substances have been sent for examination. The results of the examination revealed that they are classified as particularly dangerous psychotropic drugs, the circulation of which is prohibited in the Republic of Tajikistan," the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan ("Illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogues"). Oripov has been placed under arrest, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
The Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs noted that combating drug trafficking remains a priority for law enforcement agencies, and such operations are conducted on an ongoing basis to disrupt the distribution of prohibited substances.
