Khabibullo Nazarzoda, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with Elsa Pignol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Tajikistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening cooperation in civil aviation, including collaboration with French aircraft manufacturer Airbus and leading French investment institutions.
According to the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the meeting aimed to identify new avenues for developing the country's aviation infrastructure and attracting foreign investment into the sector. Particular attention was paid to establishing direct flights between Tajikistan and France, which, according to the participants, will be an important step in strengthening economic and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
Khabibullo Nazarzoda noted that following the adoption of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan's Resolution "On the Introduction of the Open Skies Policy," Dushanbe International Airport Open Joint-Stock Company has provided foreign airlines with a number of benefits, including discounts on all services. This step, as the Agency Director emphasized, contributes to the creation of favorable conditions for attracting new air carriers and investors to the country's aviation industry.
During the meeting, the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency expressed Tajikistan's willingness to establish partnerships with French airlines and aviation industry companies. For this purpose, it was proposed to utilize the infrastructure of the country's four international airports—Dushanbe, Khujand, Kulob, and Bokhtar.
French Ambassador Elsa Pignol, for her part, noted the interest of French companies in developing long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajikistan, emphasizing the importance of establishing direct air links between the two countries to expand business and tourism contacts.
The Civil Aviation Agency emphasized that such meetings play an important role in strengthening international ties and developing Tajikistan's aviation industry, opening up new prospects for cooperation with foreign partners.
