The Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan signed an agreement with Starlink Tajikistan (part of SpaceX ) to provide access to the global satellite internet network. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Dushanbe Invest–2025 International Investment Forum, currently underway in the capital of Tajikistan.
According to the Communications Service, the signing of the agreement with Starlink will be an important step in developing the national internet infrastructure and providing residents with high-speed access to the global network, including in remote and mountainous areas. The project will significantly improve the quality and stability of internet services and facilitate the digital transformation of the republic's economy.
At the Dushanbe Invest–2025 forum, the Communications Service and its divisions signed eight key cooperation agreements with leading international and regional companies. The documents cover the areas of economic digitalization, 5G technology implementation, internet infrastructure development, digital education, and regional cooperation.
Among the signed documents was a license for Starlink Tajikistan , which will allow it to begin operations in Tajikistan and connect the country to the global satellite network. A memorandum on the creation of the programming school "SCHOOL 21," aimed at training IT and programming specialists, was also signed with the participation of Sberbank of Russia and the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies.
In the international communications sector, Tajiktelecom Joint-Stock Company, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) , and Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) signed a commercial agreement to transit internet traffic through Pakistan . This step will expand international internet access channels and improve the reliability of the national data transmission infrastructure.
In addition, the Communications Service and the country's leading mobile operators – Indigo Tajikistan , TT Mobile , Babilon-M , Takom and Tajiktelecom – signed a memorandum on the creation of a national 5G consortium , which will become the basis for the implementation and development of modern next-generation mobile technologies.
A separate area of cooperation was the signing of agreements with Eutelsat Group, Huawei Technologies Tajikistan, and the German company ROHDE & SCHWARZ GmbH & Co. KG . According to the documents, the partners will invest 15 million euros in the creation of a National Radio Monitoring Center and the development of cybersecurity systems in Tajikistan.
At the conclusion of the forum, the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed an agreement to expand cooperation in the field of digitalization and innovation .
On behalf of the Tajik side, the documents were signed by the Head of the Communications Service, Isfandiyor Saidullo , as well as the heads of relevant departments and domestic companies.
Experts believe that the implementation of the signed agreements will be a key step in developing Tajikistan's digital infrastructure, improving the quality of internet services, introducing new technologies, and expanding international partnerships in communications and innovation.
