According to the minister, Iranian medicine is known for its achievements in areas such as cardiac surgery, ophthalmology, transplantology, and prosthetics, and can make a significant contribution to strengthening the potential of Tajik healthcare.
"We have achieved concrete results in personnel training. In the first nine months of 2025 alone, 61 doctors were sent to Iran for short-term courses, five specialists for fellowship programs, and one doctor for residency. Over the past three years, 242 Tajik doctors have completed training at leading Iranian medical institutions, and another 60 are preparing for internships," Abdullozoda noted.
He added that ties between Tajik and Iranian medical universities are actively expanding. In particular, collaboration is strengthening with the universities of medical sciences in Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad, and Shahid Beheshti, as well as with the Abu Ali Ibni Sino Tajik State Medical University.
In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed the supply of modern medical equipment, the introduction of innovative technologies into Tajikistan's healthcare system, as well as the joint development of the pharmaceutical industry and the processing of medicinal plants.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation and implement joint projects aimed at improving public health and advancing medical science.
