In the Sughd region, necessary measures are being taken to ensure the uninterrupted operation of various sectors of the national economy and medical institutions during the winter period.
Regional Governor Rahab Akhmadzoda inspected medical facilities in Khujand and inspected their preparations for winter, the regional administration's press service reported .
During a visit to the regional children's clinical hospital, it was noted that coal had been stocked in excess of the planned amount, and the facility's central heating system was fully operational. The hospital is one of the largest medical institutions in the region, with 12 diagnostic and treatment departments and 290 beds. All hospital buildings are heated through its own central heating system.
The regional head emphasized that to ensure a smooth winter, it is necessary to stock up on medicine, food, and fuel in excess of planned reserves.
Rahab Akhmadzoda also visited the Regional Center for Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, where he reviewed the progress of preparations for the winter season. The center will be heated by natural gas. Work on preparing the heating center has been completed, and food, coal, and necessary materials for the facility's operation during the cold season have been stocked.
During his visit, the regional head called on the chairman of the regional Council of War and Labor Veterans, Tursunboy Rakhmatov, noting the state and government's concern for veterans and wishing him good health.
At the same time, leaders of the medical industry were instructed to take practical measures to improve the quality of medical care, use new diagnostic and treatment methods, and implement the instructions of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon.
The regional head praised the recruitment of young professionals to medical institutions, emphasizing that young professionals, who have gained experience working in developed countries, are familiar with modern technologies and innovative equipment.
As a reminder, a regional headquarters has been established to ensure the timely preparation of the region's economic and social sectors for uninterrupted and effective operation during the 2025–2026 autumn-winter period. The preparation process is under the constant supervision of the executive body of state power of the Sughd Region. Particular attention is being paid to the procurement of coal and firewood, the launch of boiler houses and heating centers, the repair and improvement of facilities, and the implementation of other important measures.
