Davron Jurakhon Safarzoda, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Director of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan, delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized that the SCO summit in Tianjin was the largest and most meaningful in the organization's history, and its results confirm that "the SCO is confidently moving toward its 25th anniversary as a mature, strategically oriented international organization, capable of formulating goals for the decade ahead—from security and stability to sustainable development and humanitarian cooperation."
The rector noted that "in the context of increasing geopolitical fragmentation and a crisis of trust in international affairs, the value of platforms based on dialogue, equality, and mutual respect is particularly growing," emphasizing that the SCO is rightfully one of such authoritative and effective international platforms today.
Participants watched a video about the SCO summit in Tianjin. SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev sent a special video message to the roundtable participants.
The key speakers at the event were Sobirzoda Shukhrat Gulmakhmad, National Coordinator of the Republic of Tajikistan for SCO Affairs, and Guo Zhijun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Tajikistan.
The ambassadors of the SCO member states to Tajikistan – the Republic of Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and the Russian Federation – as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan also took part in the discussion of the results of the Tianjin SCO summit.
Rashid Alimov, a professor at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan, delivered the closing remarks. He drew attention to the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, to proclaim by the UN General Assembly a "Decade of Peacebuilding for Future Generations." According to Alimov, this initiative is directly aligned with the UN Pact for the Future and the Declaration on Future Generations, reflecting a commitment to the principles of long-term sustainability, peace, and solidarity.
The event allowed participants to discuss the SCO's strategic areas of activity, assess its role in global governance and the joint development of member states, and develop recommendations for strengthening cooperation within the organization.
